Set to open on June 18th, Universal Studios Orlando is cruelly torturing Harry Potter fans with the most recent unveiling of photos and concept art for the absurdly anticipated theme park, “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.”
Attractions are expected to feature a 360-degree immersive experience that combines live action, robotic technology, and unseen film footage starring the true cast of the film series. Potter-movie set designers and decorators were also hired to emulate the settings that brought the stories to life.
Guests will be greeted by the Hogwarts Express at the entrance into the main area of the park, which is made to look like the village of Hogsmeade. The grounds will feature straight-from-the-book realizations of such storefronts like Ollivander’s wand shop, where visitors will have the chance to experience how it would feel to be chosen by a wizard’s wand. And, as the pockets empty on food and merchandise, the fun will pour into the fantastic “Dragon Challenge,” a twin high-speed coaster designed with the Triwizard Tournament in mind, and the “Flight of the Hippogriff” – the family-oriented flight over the grounds surrounding Hogwarts.
The park’s feature attraction, “Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey,” set inside Hogwarts castle, will enable visitors to explore the grounds, which will sport a gallery of living photographs, and a precise replication of Dumbledore’s office.
With this new information, it grows only more apparent: Hogwarts awaits the world at Universal Studios Orlando.
